As Willesden Junction (Low Level) is covered under the "shared tracks" rule between the Bakerloo and DC lines, the station will be in the bucket as it can be visited legally on the day using a DC line Overground train (albeit only going north into zone 3!)

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Keep it in the draw I guess! A temporary Kensington Olympia...

Interestingly the replacement bus from Paddington to Willesden Junction carries on to North Acton.

Well it's a classic replacement bus move - it can be faster to take the Central out to North Acton then jump on the RRB than to crawl up from Paddington...

Talking of that, there is faster ways between North Acton and Willesden Junction then going via NHG and Paddington!!!!

I really should know better (especially as I have done that transfer many times before)!

It's funny how certain cut-throughs seem to come up frequently on the R15s then vanish from sight.

I think I did Royal Oak-Warwick Avenue three times in 8 scheduled rounds (of which I missed three) and White City-Wood Lane's come up several times as well. But since then North Acton-Willesden has cropped up twice in consecutive rounds (once each way IIRC).

How would everyone feel about Willesden Jn being the starting station for the next round ;-)

When one finds awkward stations in the Random 15 draw, one dreads their appearance and crosses one's fingers that said stations do not come up. One does not try extra extra hard to make sure they do!

I was just thinking it's better to have an awkward station at the start than have to visit it later on.

It would go against the definition of the word "random", wouldn't it?

If I understand things correctly, the starting station is not randomly selected (or at least not using the R15 generator). e.g. the Stratford International DLR start in Jan 2016 was specifically chosen to commemorate the changes to the Z2 boundary, and we've started at Essex Road in the past, which is no longer an Underground station.... just because....!

In the event of a 'live draw' round like this, the starting station certainly won't be chosen at the same time/in the same way as the other random stations otherwise nobody would be there!

The starting station of a "live draw" round is conducted by a family member drawing a station out of the same bucket that will then be used by the challengers present to pick the remaining 14 stations from at the start.

So if Willesden Junction (Low Level) does come out, you cannot blame me!

I understood that for a standard R15 the start station is just the first station on the R15 generator list (and someone, presumably a family member, just tells tangy what it is).

For a twist round the start station depends on the twist. It might be random, or, as in the examples above, chosen for a specific reason.
