Still not keen on the idea of a working day event, especially since one of my colleagues is leaving at the end of this month and another next month, so getting a day off in August could be difficult (and it's too late to submit for July leave now).

However looking at the TfL website again, there are a couple of other options:

24th June (i.e. the day after tomorrow!) - too short notice now.

26th August. This is both the Bank Holiday weekend and Notting Hill Carnival. Would require me to get a 'day off' from the volunteering I was planning to do that weekend but hopefully that shouldn't be a problem.

So, can we have names for:

Doing the bottle during Notting Hill Carnival would surely be lunacy?

That's my thinking too. TfL website says Bayswater is likely to be very busy.

Is there a reason why 22 July isn't suitable?

West side of the Bottle is closed, meaning Bayswater and HSK are impossible.

I'll tweet TfL about the 8th of July, actually. That closure still hasn't popped up on the 6 months document, which it's had ample time to do.

The 8 July part closure of the DLR is only on interactive elements of the TFL web site (Status updates and Planned works calendar) and the 22 July closure of the base of the bottle is only on the PDF (and the current one has today as the publication date), so something is wrong.

Usually, the document is correct; the website tends to be updated to match the document a week or two in advance of the actual closure.

I think the problem is there is inconsistent information on the TfL site and by the time we know for certain whether there will be any closures on those dates or not, it will be too late notice to use those dates.

I swear I looked at the TFL website earlier in the week and earlier today and 22 July was clear. At the time of this post it's showing the closure. :(

The challenge can't be held if some of the stations are closed?

So 22nd is out is 8th July likely to be an option and if so how much notice do people need for that date?
