Random 15 Championship 2014/15: Round 4

Post by tangy »

Welcome to the 2014/15 Random 15 Championship. I am your host (commonly known to regulars as the BERC when I am hosting Random 15 challenges). The Random 15 challenge is just that, visit 15 randomly selected stations that feature on the Tube Map (usually within zones 1-2 and using the Underground network only). There will be certain rounds within the championship that are a variation of this such as adding an extra zone or network e.g. DLR onto the challenge. So are you ready to take on the Random 15 championship?

If anyone is not familiar with the standard rules (or scoring) for Random 15 challenges, they can be read here: http://www.explorerticket.co.uk/tubecha ... 5rules.htm (for regulars this is exactly the same as last year).

So let us announce the details for round 3.

When: 14th March 2015, 12:30 GMT start.
Pre challenge meet up: Oval (street side of ticket barriers). Please be at meet point by 12:25.
Post challenge meet up: The Bricklayers Arms, 31 Gresse Street W1T 1QS (off TCR, the road)
Variant: This is a "normal" no twists round. Just 15 London Underground stations in Zones 1-2
Time limit: 4 hours

Engineering works:
There is NO scheduled line closures on the Underground, Overground or DLR on Saturday 14th March, therefore all lines and stations will be open (except as below).

Covent Garden: Exit only, westbound trains non stop
TCR: Central line non stop

Thameslink: No service through central London. Trains north from St Pancras (high level) and south from London Bridge (fast services) or Herne Hill (local services).
Southeastern: Trains to/from Charing Cross do NOT call London Bridge.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Looking forward to this one. You forgot about the planned closures on the Tramlink  . It's also the day before my birthday, and it's also Pi Day of the Century in the American dating convention.

For those of us who are playing darts, I have phoned ahead and the dartboard is reserved for us from 15:30 at Bricklayers Arms. If you are the first team to arrive then just quote "tube challengers."

Booked my tickets down to London for Saturday. Can't wait to join in, meet those who are coming and give this a go. I do have to leave Liverpool Street at 6pm to get back home, but it will all be run and won by then, so I won't stay long at the post-challenge place :)

Looking forward to Saturday
