Random 15 Championship 2014/15: Round 3
Welcome to the 2014/15 Random 15 Championship. I am your host (commonly known to regulars as the BERC when I am hosting Random 15 challenges). The Random 15 challenge is just that, visit 15 randomly selected stations that feature on the Tube Map (usually within zones 1-2 and using the Underground network only). There will be certain rounds within the championship that are a variation of this such as adding an extra zone or network e.g. DLR onto the challenge. So are you ready to take on the Random 15 championship?
If anyone is not familiar with the standard rules (or scoring) for Random 15 challenges, they can be read here: http://www.explorerticket.co.uk/tubecha ... 5rules.htm (for regulars this is exactly the same as last year).
So let us announce the details for round 3.
When: 17th January 2015, 12:30 GMT
Pre challenge meet up: City Thameslink (Ludgate Circus entrance concourse by 12:20 GMT)
Post challenge meet up: The Champion pub, Wells Street (near Oxford Circus/Goodge Street)
Variant: This is a twist round and the twist this time is to throw in the NR (and LO) stations into the bucket as well as LU stations. Therefore any station on the LU, LO and NR network within zones 1-2 could be drawn out... you will need a "London Connections" map for this one.
Time limit: 6 hours
Engineering works:
Central: NOT stopping TCR (Northern line serving TCR as normal)
Circle: No service Edgware Road- Tower Hill (via King's Cross)
H&C: No service Baker Street- Barking (Circle extended from Tower Hill- Barking instead)
Metropolitan: No service Baker Street- Aldgate
Thameslink: No service Blackfriars- London Bridge
Southeastern: Trains to/from Charing Cross do NOT call London Bridge
South West Trains: Major work in Wimbledon area, suburban services reduced.
Great Eastern: No trains Liverpool Street- Stratford
Stations closed: Euston Square, Great Portland Street, Barbican, Aldgate, Drayton Park, Essex Road.

Re: Random 15 Championship: Round 3
To clarify, here is a list of what stations are to be included in the challenge:
--All LU stations in zones 1-2 (see station closures below)
--All Overground stations in zones 1-2 (all lines open)
--NR Stations counted as separate from the above: All London Terminals, Battersea Park, Bethnal Green, Brixton, Cambridge Heath, Clapton, City Thameslink, Deptford, East Dulwich, Elephant & Castle, Finsbury Park, Greenwich, Hackney Downs, Herne Hill, Lewisham, Limehouse, Loughborough Junction, North Dulwich, Nunhead, Putney, Queenstown Road, Rectory Road, South Bermondsey, St. Johns, Stoke Newington, Vauxhall, Waterloo East, Wandsworth Town, West Hampstead Thameslink.
Stations closed: Drayton Park, Essex Road, Euston Square, Great Portland Street, Barbican, Aldgate.
The golden rule is that if you need to exit one set of ticket barriers then enter another set of ticket barriers to transfer to the other network then it is classed as separate. At stations where one can interchange between two different networks without passing through any ticket barriers then it is counted as one station can be visited by any of the above networks included in this challenge.
Examples of the above are: Farringdon, Highbury & Islington, Kensington Olympia, New Cross, West Brompton, Whitechapel to name a few.

Just to inform you, the first trains out of City Thameslink for the challenge are the 1231 to St. Albans calling at Farringdon, St. Pancras International, Kentish Town, West Hampstead Thameslink and all stations north to St. Albans, and the 1232 to Gatwick calling at Blackfriars, East Croydon and Gatwick, so if you're going south you might want to get out at Blackfriars before you end up in Croydon.

Maybe we should have our darts finals at the Ally Pally as well
Yep this is OK by me but a couple of questions....
There is a train ex Kings Cross arriving Ally Pally station at 0839hrs
1) What platform do I need at Kings X
2) Does that give me enough time to get to parkrun start
Cheers

Its booked for platform 11, will almost certainly go from one of platforms 9-11. Or you could just stay on the Vic to Finsbury Park and pick it up there.
The start looks to be only about 5 mins walk from the station.
