Re: Random 15 Championship 2014/15: Round 3
As we didn’t make it to the pub after here is how mine and Aaron’s day went.
Starting and going through City Thameslink is a first to me, at the start when we opened the envelopes I saw quite a few north of where we were, decided it would be better to take a northbound train up north. When I was looking at the map I thought it would be a good idea to bail at Kentish town and run to Kentish town west (this was probably not the best idea in the world), this went quite well but we did have a 6 minute wait for the next westbound train, my thinking was that we could cover west Hampstead on the Overground and jubilee (didn’t realise it had to be done on thameslink until later on in the day!). At west Hampstead we ran down to the thameslink station realising that it wasn’t the jubilee part so had to run back to the jubilee line area and we got on to the platform just as a train arrived!
Down through Swiss cottage to baker street for the Bakerloo, where we got to the platform just as a northbound train left, I would have to say that might be one of the first baker street transfers that I have not managed to get lost changing from sub-surface to deep level lines! When we got the next Bakerloo train we found Andrew (tractakid) heading up to Kensal green, he also reminded us about doing West Hampstead by thameslink so we had to go on a rescue mission! We stayed with Andrew through the change at Willesden junction (he was heading the same way), ignoring the ‘do not run’ signs during the change we had a sexy change on to the Overground and round to West Hampstead on to the Thameslink with a 6 ish minute change, train to train.
We then used Thameslink round to kings cross again! And on to the Piccadilly down through Holborn and Covent garden, oddly we did stop at Covent garden westbound, unsure if this would count we double backed and then changed at Green Park and down to Victoria, we then had another sexy change at Victoria on to the circle line round to Edgware road and continued to baker street and changed on to the jubilee line through Bermondsey to Canada water, we had about a 3 minute wait for a West Croydon 5 car train then a 4 minute turn around to head north. We then headed round to West Ham and had a good change on to the District round to Whitechapel picking up the Overground again to Highbury and Islington then up to Finsbury Park for an awesome change to the Piccadilly line to finish with our time being 3:52:39.36

I missed it! This is what you get when your laptop crashes on Friday afternoon and it takes all weekend to get it back online Hoping that I can join in on the next one, would be nice to meet many of those here and get involved as I'm getting my challenge friends from Sydney asking when I'm going to report in on a London Underground challenge

Re: Random 15 Championship 2014/15: Round 3
It was certainly showing up on NRE when I was doing some 'homework' that morning. Also The Orange One mentioned it early on in this thread and it is in the Thameslink printed timetable. I therefore suggest that it is realtimetrains with the error.tractakid wrote:Interestingly the first train we all took is not showing on realtimetrains as a standard call. Does anyone know if National Rail Enquiries was showing it as a departure?

I'm not sure- it wasn't showing on brtimes.com either. They probably get the data from the same source.

Tangy, are we getting any details?
Starting station would be helpful, seeing as it's 11 days away.
