Random 15 Championship 2013/14: Round 6

Post by tangy »

The last round of this season, therefore your final chance to grab points for the league table (prizes will be awarded to the top three overall finishing positions), a win at this event could get you onto the podium.

This round will be a normal "no twists" round of 15 LU stations within zones 1-2.

The event will be held on Saturday 31st May with a 12:30 start. The starting station will be Piccadilly Circus, please meet by the "World Time Map" in the concourse.

Post challenge meet up and results will again be The Champion pub in Wells Street.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Track Closures in the Central London Area:
Circle Line: Gloucester Road to Aldgate
District Line: South Kensington to Aldgate East
District Line: Earls Court to Kensington Olympia
DLR: Westferry to Island Gardens
DLR: Canning Town to Beckton
Northern: Camden Town to Edgware
Greater Anglia: Liverpool Street to Stratford
Thameslink: St Pancras International to Blackfriars

Closed Stations:
Belsize Park
Blackfriars
Cannon Street
Chalk Farm
Farringdon
Hampstead
Kensington Olympia
Mansion House
Monument
Sloane Square
St. James's Park
Temple
Tower Hill

Tangy, will Embankment be acceptable for Bakerloo/Northern pass-through as it is no longer accessible by District or Circle? If not, then Embankment is also closed.

My logic is that Embankment was District and Circle only because it could still be properly visited by District and Circle, so now we have no District or Circle it becomes like Edgware Road (Bakerloo) was last year. I may be wrong though.

Things to remember:
- Bond Street is closed to Central
- Covent Garden is eastbound only
- Gloucester Road is District/Circle only

As no Bakerloo or Northern line are stoping at Embankment the station will surely be closed.

But with the removal of District and Circle Line services, would it not become similar to Edgware Road (Bakerloo) last year?

The start station (as drawn at random by a family member) will be Piccadilly Circus. Please meet in the concourse by the "World Time Map" by 12:30.

Lovely, Piccadilly Circus! This round, these have all been stations I know very well (apart from Stockwell).

The Zone 1 better not be from Piccadilly Circus though. That's a bit too much Piccadilly Circus for me...
