How about a special marathon twist - start station Greenwich, fixed finishing station of Green Park, 26 stations to visit.

That doesn't sound bad, though really the start point should be either Cutty Sark or Blackheath.

I think 26 stations in Zone 1-3 would take too long. The DLR will need to be included to get to the start station, so Zone 1-2 LU+DLR should provide enough variety.

I 100% endorse GKR's idea and keep it within Z1 & 2

I suppose you'd configure the Z1 generator for a Random 25 with Greenwich fixed start, LU and DLR, and Green Park not one of the options.
By the way, the only engineering work on Saturday 12th April is Northern Line from East Finchley to High Barnet.

Re: Random 15 2013/14: Round 5
After some thought processes regarding what twist to use for this round, I have finally decided to go ahead with the marathon idea of a fixed start AND end station with 24 stations in between the two on the LU and DLR network.
Start station: Greenwich (for 12:30 start). Meet in the NR booking hall.
Finish station: Green Park.
Network/s used: LU and DLR, Zones 1-2
Time limit: 6 hours
NOTE: As this is a fixed finish you can only finish at Green Park by arriving on a LU train. You cannot end your challenge at Green Park by running into Green Park and carrying on to the next station, as you would under normal rules.
Post Challenge: The Champion (Wells Street).
Hope to see you there.
