Tube Olympics: Event 2- Random 15. 8th February 2014

Post by tangy »

**This event will also double up as round 4 of the 2013/14 Random 15 Championship. Therefore as well as medals for Tube Olympics, the normal points scoring will be applied for the Random 15 Championship league table**

This will be a plain vanilla LU only Random 15 but with a twist... there will be a live draw. Therefore instead of opening an envelope at the start of the challenge, all challengers will pick stations out of a bucket to select the other 14 stations to be visited.

The meet up point will be outside the main station building of SOUTH KENSINGTON for a later 14:00 start. Can challengers please be present by 13:50 to allow the live draw to take place and the challenge to start promptly at 14:00 hours. Your challenge will start as soon as the 15th station is read out by the BERC.

Post challenge can we please head to The Champion (Wells Street, W1T 3PA), nearest station TCR.

The current Olympic record (and current all time record) for this event is 01:57:53 set at the last Winter Olympics in 2010 by Al Brown.

Lines closed:
Northern: Kennington- Morden

Closures for the Jubilee line, NLL and SLL (Overground) only apply on Sunday 9th so will not affect the challenge.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Jubilee line is closed? Where does it say that? TfL says it's only closed Sunday. Same with W&C.

I like the South Kensington start. Nice and close to uni.
All London buses: 23 hours 25 minutes (with Adham, David, Josh and Tangy)
Holds some alternative challenge records. Not sure which ones.
20½ Random 15 challenges: 01:58:48 best

I should arrive into Euston at 13:24/13:27 (depending if I go for Virgin or the cheaper LM) so should be there on time. :) Can I text you in the situation of my train being delayed?

Oops, better put Swiss Cottage and St. John's Wood back into the bucket!

Someone hasn't seen the timetable! The random 15 is listed as event 6 even though it will be the second event in Tube Olympics 2014 due to the date chosen via the poll on the other thread. Events 2-5 have fixed dates, whereas Random 15 didn't, hence being put as the last event pending a decision on the date.

I like the idea of making Event 6 the FNC, save the big event till last! Consider it done.
