Wowrthwhile information for the Mouse Challenge.
So we'll have to negotiate our way through ticket halls full of people getting annoyed at people who refuse to do the job they are being paid for then? On the bright side if all the barriers are open then it should knock some time off due to not having to wait for people to faff around finding their ticket, or waiting for it to go through the machine.

It was going OK until signal failure at Baker St meant I was stranded at the top of Circle Line for ages. Trains not moving anywhere so I re-routed twice and used the Thameslink

This meant my projected 1hr 30mins ended up at almost 2hr 40mins and I went straight back to get my car at Hatton X so don't know the results yet.....

Everyone was affected by that signal failure. Andi and I were the joint winners in a not very impressive time of 1:55:57. Coming into Moorgate I thought we would be close to the record, but a 25 min wait to get to Euston Square put paid to that.

That means I have the best Mouse time in just under a year (01:50:15 last Saturday).

And apart from the fairly large and important exception of the current record holders' attempt, the best in the last 4 years. Funny, that.

You know it's a bad day when you reconnaissance run (where we went in and out of Charring Cross three times) is only 8 mins slower than your actual time.

My time was 1:59:14 but I had to leave before I found out the result!

The results from Event 1 of Tube Olympics 2014.

There was 7 teams who all decided to go solo. All teams visited Embankment correctly on the Circle/District line platforms.

In reverse order:

7th: Tangy: 02:41:41
6th: Kevin Brown: 02:37:21
5th: Andrew Baker: 02:04:04
4th: Glen Bryant: 01:59:14
3rd: Andrew Chilcraft: 01:56:42 (BRONZE MEDAL)
1st=: Andi James: 01:55:57 (GOLD MEDAL)
1st=: Peter Smyth: 01:55:57 (GOLD MEDAL)

No world records broken due to a signal/points failure at Baker Street on the subsurface lines that affected all teams, some more than others.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

with a time of minus 1m and 07s from southwark as going through waterloo twice

i set off on the jubilee heading for london bridge then down to kennington db back to e&c got off at charing cross and negotiated the crowds quite well running down to embankment but couldnt shake anybody off.

getting out at cannon street for a run to bank again not managing to shake people off getting off at holborn and taking pic up to russell square and db where peter suggested i ran to goodge st.

going through the corridors of leiecester square going up an db at camden town for moorgtae we arrived at the platforms with nothing moving we were about to quit when i heard the tfl employee saying it be up again in a few moments unfortunately both peter and andrew came to find me lol.

we ended up at euston square convinced we were not first even though we were on record pace up until moorgate i should have done my original plan of runningfrom warren st to euston square and finishing at mornington crescent as trains were running east while we were waiting

Good point, if you want your time recorded from your first unique station (e.g. Southwark) put on Explorer Ticket then please post/PM/email me via Explorer Ticket.
