Random 15 Championship 2013/14: Round 3

Post by tangy »

Round 3 of the 2013/14 Random 15 Championship is confirmed as the 4th January 2014.

This is a "twist" round and I have decided to go for a new one... to include NR (and LO, as they are a NR TOC) stations.

Meet up: Oxford Circus, Argyle Street (exit 8 from concourse) for a 12:30 prompt start.
Zones: 1-2
Time limit: 6 hours

Post challenge meet up: Bricklayer's Arms, Gresse Street (off TCR, the road).

Attendance register please. Hope to see you there.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

A quick word to tangy that he should probably reopen the poll with the options changeable, as things may crop up on some days.

The 18th is not likely to get 5 votes in one go.

I need to get back to Milton Keynes fairly quickly this day, so may not even make the pub depending on the challenge length. I'll be sure to text my result through.

That's conclusive, 4th January it is then.

You can now safely book your train/plane/bus/coach/taxi/helicopter fares now... or whatever other means of transport you need to get to central London.

Full details of where and when and what twist will follow shortly

does the BERC pick up the fare for helicopter rides then?

If you want to hire an helicopter for transportation to Battersea, then by all means do so, but the challenger will pay the fare!

I guess we need to be clear on what counts as a separate station for this challenge. For example is the Kings Cross St Pancras complex counted as one or three stations? Then there is the Waterloo/Waterloo East/Southwark complex.

The tube station is known as King's Cross St Pancras, the rail stations are King's Cross and St. Pancras International. All three are separate from each other.

Brixton is two separate, as is Shepherd's Bush.

Waterloo, Waterloo East and Southwark are all individual, i.e. if Waterloo East is drawn it must be done on a NR train. Just like the Bank and Monument complex on a normal challenge.

West Hampstead is three separate stations.

Stations such as Wimbledon which have LU and NR trains within the same station count as one.
