In addition, certain stations must also be eliminated (Lambeth North, Southwark and Brixton for Northern, West Ken, Ken Oly, Chiswick Park and H&I for Piccadilly, Bethnal Green for H&C and currently also Marylebone for Circle (until Edgware Road opens)) This could cause only minor-no inconvenience (e.g. W&C or DLR), quite a bit of hassle (e.g. Victoria, Central or Metropolitan) or be absolutely devastatingly deadly (Northern, District, Piccadilly or LO). This has been mentioned before (anti-Circle).
I thought TfL already did this for us....

Well, not limited as such, but there's nowhere near as many trains there than to Heathrow

Really? Heathrow Terminal 4 receives a train every 10 minutes. Heathrow Terminal 5 receives a train every 10 minutes. Uxbridge will generally receive a Met train every 7-10 minutes + a Picc train every 20 minutes. I'd say that Uxbridge therefore has a less-limited service that the Heathrow termini...

New idea: You get 6 lots of 5 stations, then randomly get rid of 3 sets, thus leaving you with 15. However, the getting rid of sets is done only 1 or 2 minutes before it is due to begin!

If the getting rid of is random, you might as well just get three sets to start with.

Something where you have to make a quick decision having seen the contents might be interesting though

How about you start off with 16/17, then a few minutes before the start you randomly get rid of 1/2

Choose 15 from 20 already exists.

Here's an idea: All challengers start at different randomly chosen stations on the list.

Basically, a non challenger reads the list before the challenge starts, and puts all the stations in a bag. Challengers meet at Oxford Circus. Each team draws one of the stations. The challengers start their watches simultaneously - but the envelopes remain sealed for the first hour, while the challengers make their way to the street side of the barriers of their chosen station. After exactly 1 hour (everyone is in place), envelopes open, and then proceeds like a normal R15 - except everyone has started at a different place! The hour is then deducted from the final times.

But this isn't choosing, this is even more randomness!

Ah I see - I like the idea of choosing, as it involves skill.

But say 10 were on the Circle line, it would be obvious which one everyone chooses. Whereas with random ones taken out, it is on the spot planning

True, but that's not very likely

Hmm - maybe you could have say 12 but have an added requirement that you have to travel on every line
