Never ask for a hot chocolate on one of them, as they give you a full cup of hot water and a sachet of powder. Attempting to stir it in without spilling while the entire train is tilting is quite tricky.

30 degrees is a third of the way down from the vertical to the horizontal. If you roll an aircraft to thirty degrees, you'd be surprised at how far over you're tilting!

Maybe ten degrees... I know! Check Wikipedia!

For the Finnish Pendolinos:
Maximum tilting angle: 8°

Thirty is a little exuberant!

Two Things

Post by juggler »

Right I know I'm a late entrant but Annie only just mentioned the Zone 1 Challenge on her blog!

I don't have any ideas about a route (and given how long it took me to work one up for last years full challenge... I won't have time to think about it sufficiently between now and next Friday) so I would like to hook up with any team that will have me - I don't want to do it on my own :(

I'll bring bags of sweets as a bribe for anyone who's prepared to take me on though :D

Oh, and A2, I am also getting the train to Brum from Euston at 7:10pm so you won't be on your own

And something else - for the team that I join, please appreciate that I have *never* been to Kensington Olympia station, and I have no intention of visiting it next Friday... the tube has to retain some air of mystery for me :?

I'm actually looking forward to doing it on my own - makes a change.

Hands up who thinks Neil is sad for actually wanting to do this on his lonesome

The thing I really enjoyed about last year's challenge was having the opportunity to get to know new people... even Fimb :P

I shan't mock Neil for wanting to do this on his own - as I've done about 5 Zone One Challenges on my own, and an ALC as well.

Well, then it's probably a good thing that it's in Zone 2..!

:x Well now I look a complete fool - why do I always think that it's *inside* the circle?? Perhaps it *is* in Zone 1 in London Below, and I know I've been there once or twice on those strange, late night journeys you have sometimes... spooky  You know, those nights when the lights are all flickery, everything looks indistinct and you get off at your stop, the realisation dawning on you as the train leaves the station that you were the *only* person on the train....
