Bernie Ecclestone isn't an F1 driver ...

Either you need a comma in there or you're effectively saying that the BERC should compete.

Yet he's there at most, if not all, of the races. If he wasn't there at the 1995 San Marino Grand Prix we would not have any television coverage of the sport. Italian authorities attempted to arrest Alan Woollard, head of FOCA TV (later FOM), in an effort to release tapes of Senna's fatal accident in the 1994 event. If it were not for Bernie, we would not have any TV coverage.

Which is what Matt was doing, yet he still got constantly asked "Why isn't the BERC attending?" etc etc! Can't win!
That was certainly never my feelings towards the situation I am not trying to create a win or lose scenario here just merely saying that IMO a non competing BERC is the ideal solution to the problems stated above...

People may have asked Matt if he was attending which may have been misinterpreted as questioning his absence because he is a sensitive old sausage :)

It is never going to be easy with shifts and season tickets for football

BTW have removed the word "not" as was clearly a typo as pointed out by HT

My point about Bernie Ecclestone is that he doesn't take part in the races. Therefore, it follows that the BERC doesn't have to either.

Stop being such an insufferable know-it-all.

Yes he was questioned IF he would be there and told numerous times on R15 threads that he "should" attend.

Anyway, Tangy is BERC now, so it doesn't matter what's been said.

I think Matt should compete, not because he is berc, but because he's awesome and stuff. Massive fan of the draw videos, I'd be fully behind them continuing. This is kinda in contradiction the first statement, can't have it both ways I guess :( Who has actually said that they were dissatisfied with Matt's berchood because he wasn't competing?! Also, I think the way Matt handled the voting was very good, especially as I was a bit of a nuisance :P

OK, back in the realms of reality again - why can't we just have someone who organises the events, and someone who does the draws? It doesn't HAVE to be the same person. There aren't any rules about this you know ...

I think Tubeguru has a bit of denial of his tube challenging past. Maybe.

Well I think Matt shouldn't compete coz he's far too awesome to be associated with such nonsense as R15s :P

I think I've been able to let it go a little. Obviously, it's all moved on since 2006, but I'm not embarrassed by it or anything like that.

Someone at work found out about the 2004 record a few years ago, and every now an then someone asks me about it.

It's probably best you don't ever find out.

Neil, he's got a point. When do you enter the next decade age-wise? We should have a "40's and over" section for us grumpy buggers on here.
It's my 40th birthday next Monday.
