Surely the way to sort this is the same way we always sort things on this forum... A POLL!

Is that a poll to decide the new BERC, or a poll to decide the voting system to be used to elect the new BERC, or a poll to decide if we need to have a poll at all?

A poll to decide the new BERC would seem sufficient enough :P

As the outgoing BERC I would like to run the election process.

There are currently four declared candidates (in no particular order):
James Laughlin (uefacup81) SECONDED
Matthew Scrivin (scrxisi) SECONDED
Martin Hazel (tangy)
Damian Cook (nozza)

1. All candidates need to be seconded by another forum member.
2. Please send me a PM if you wish to second a candidate.
3. Any new candidates wishing to declare should do so in this thread or by PM.
4. Any candidate wishing to withdraw should do so in this thread or by PM.
5. I will update the list as soon as a candidate is seconded.
6. The deadline for this stage of the process is 23:59 on 5th July
7. The second stage will be a poll to choose the BERC.
8. If the poll is tied a second ballot will be conducted between those candidates.
One day I shall return!

I was discussing this with SD as to whether the tube Olympics should be the 1st round? Not sure what happened n 2008 Olympics or if the R15 championship has started at that time?

My thoughts, for what they're worth, is that having one round of the R15 on a Sunday (as would be the case if the Tube Olympics R15 was to serve as round one) might give some people a slight advantage over those (myself included) who cannot make an R15 on a Sunday.

Our thoughts were that Tube Olympics would not count as per of the Champoinship

In 2010 the Winter Olympics R15 was also Round 4 of the championship. Doesn't bother me either way really.

In both previous Olympics the R15 has also combined as a round of the R15 championship, but as James points out this has never been on a Sunday before.
It will be down to the new BERC to decide if it's included or not.

p.s. three days remaining for the closing date for BERC applicants.

When can we expect the new BERC's decision on R1 of the 2012-13 Championships being the Tube Olympics event on Sunday 22nd July or not :?:
