I will indeed be signing CDs of my "song" on the day. I should have 3 or 4 with me. If more people than that want one, then please make it clear before the day so I can try and burn a few more!

-Anthony
Can't we just burn them all now? :D

Joy54 & Zeib ... are you both bunking off then ?! (Do kids still call it that these days..?) Tsk! Disgraceful behaviour ... ;-)

Anyway, you'll all be thrilled to know that i've spent some of your license fee (i.e my hard earned dosh) on a tacky winners prize, and a consolation prize for best team name. oh yes!

Senj.. get the 10.15 - always better to have time to spare. Neil and I are meeting up early at a secret location an hour before to plot our world domination plan, and polish the cheap trophy that I've bought.

Two final thoughts:

1. Are people going to be using Oysters? They've got a 2 hour time-out limit, right? That could be an issue - just wondering what ticket type people were going to use.

2. I've got this really bad feeling that LU have got wind of this, and will come and have "a quiet word" with us when they see 30+ people gathering at OC at midday.

Stuff them! What have they ever done for us? It's not as if them working keeps the system running! (that was irony btw  )

And TubeGuru... I emailed you months ago to tell that I had a team entered. And yet somehow I'm not on the list. I feel like crying into my bowl of shredded wheat. (that too was irony - who wants to eat that flavourless tosh?)

Please add me to the list of entrants for next Friday. I will be on my own - I think too many cooks will spoil the broth - although I wouldn't be suprised if some of us end up with the same route again.

I assume that LU knew about the last zone 1 challenge as the BBC cameraman would have had to ask them for permission to film. As they weren't bothered then I doubt they will care now.

edit: Actually looking at the LU byelaws I am sure we will probably be breaking a couple eg

9(4) Where there is a notice by an entrance or exit on any part of the railway indicating that it shall be used for entrance or exit only, no person shall enter by the exit or leave by the entrance. No person shall enter or leave by an emergency exit except in an emergency or when directed to do so by an authorised person.

10(5) In the case of automatic closing train doors, no person shall enter or leave by the door when it is closing.

In theory at least, we could be fined £1000 each time we go the wrong way up a passageway or dive onto a train at the last moment!

Yeah, if I get in on time then I'll divert via Covent Garden and pick up a Tube T-shirt to do the run in :-).

I should be easily recognisable on the day -- my beard stands out almost as much as Anthony's mask does.

Senj,

Could you not shave the words "Zone 1 Challenge" into your beard, a bit like people do when they have words written into their head hair? That would be soooo much better than a t-shirt.

If this is the case then why not mean up street-level at Oxford Circus - there is no need to be underground at this point - choose an specific entrance/exit or shop to assemble outside. Choose the starting station and then everyone can then make their own way to the start and assemble there (LU won't know which start location has been chosen)

Is a flat cap and pension book required to go into that pub?

He hee! no flat cap required, but if it's a nice day it means that those of us who are joining us that aren't legally allowed inside can sit out, outside!

Re: Meeting in OC... aye, we may well be outside by one of the entrances instead, I think most people know what Neil & I look like anyway...

They do have a 2 hour limit if pre -pay is on the card. Don't know about if it is a travelcard only card. Depending on the start station, I might have to buy a paper ticket at that start station if it looks like I won't surface for two hours.

I've used a monthly travelcard Oyster on all of my Zone 1 runs and it's been fine, but then, I do usually do quite a few runs on my routes. It will be more difficult on Friday due to Queensway etc.
