Evening Bottle Challenge - Friday 1 October
I will be introducing someone to the concept of running around the Tube with a Bottle Challenge on the evening of Friday 1 October. This person's idea of any Tube excursion is more team-based than one of individual pursuit, so I am wondering if anyone would like to go against us to give it the competitive edge. Drinks afterwards would be excellent as well.
The starting time would be after 1930; probably closer to 2000, but I shall confirm that if anyone is interested. Sloane Square seems to be a popular first station for this exercise, so I am happy to start there.

If we go for drinks afterwards, I'd like that to be as close to Tottenham Court Road station as possible. Are there any suggestions for a nice quiet place in that area? I believe the pub at which we met after the R15 on June 5 is near, but I can't remember its name or which road it's on.

That's the one. Thanks Kevin.
Are there any objections to meeting there? I don't know what it's like on Friday nights, but I'm sure it will be quieter than somewhere in Soho. It will be convenient for me because I might go to a nearby gig later on.

I won't be attending, I'm off at a wedding on that day.
Question: have we had an instance of two tube challengers getting married before?

Ric Brackenbury and his fiancee Martina (?) did the 2009 Zone 1 Race. I spoke to him briefly at this year's one, and I believe he said he will get married by December. So they will probably be the first.

If we're classing Tube challengers as anyone who's done either a full network or one of the official zone 1 meets, they may be trumped...Adham wrote:Ric Brackenbury and his fiancee Martina (?) did the 2009 Zone 1 Race. Re: Evening Bottle Challenge - Friday 1 October
A reminder of the evening Bottle Challenge this Friday (October 1).
The starting station is Sloane Square, and everyone who is taking part can meet there for 1930 in the ticket hall. I might be a few minutes late as I have to drop my suitcase somewhere first, but we will aim to start by 1945, or up to 2000 at the latest.
Afterwards we will meet at The Angel pub, 61 St Giles High Street, close to Tottenhan Court Road station, for some merrymaking at their place. We should arrive there for around 2200 ish, I would think. If anyone can't do the Bottle but can make the pub, please do and come along regardless.
Please add your statements of intent and any other comments below. If anyone would like my telephone number in case, do send me a PM. I hope to see a few of you there.
