Actually the Journey Planner (and the spreadsheet) does show an all day Olympia service on the 21st (and all next week).

How do you know it's not operating on the 21st?

I understand from the GirlTube team (of which I'm not part) that a direct question was asked to TfL regarding the 21st and they were advised that no Exhibition service was running.

Who knows whether what they heard is accurate?! lol

It's a farce.

I even had a problem with the morning Olympia trains.

JP now says there is an expo service on the 21st!

Who did the girls contact to get the "Nay" verdict?

@districtline (LU customer service for the District Line). And have enquired with some friends who are privy to more reliable information.

Looks like we're going to have to come up with a non-expo day route, can't rely on the FOI info or JP :(

It may be an idea to try for one, simply as you could then use it at any time, rather than having to pick an Olympia day!

... Also, their criteria for running a service is changing as noted on that FOI response so Olympia days may be becoming even more few and far between!

Yes, you're right, it just saddens me to have to set aside a lovely sub GWR route *sniff*

Iain, you have my sympathy - ridiculous, isn't it? all i can say is ... come up with two routes? one which uses an exhib service, and one which doesn't, and then the week before your challenge, physically GO to Earl's Court, and check local poster information to see if it's running or not. it seems now, that (sadly) you can't rely on Journey Planner - Woeful, TfL, utterly pathetic.

Nigel - it's ok!! pedantry is good... One needs it in this business. Failing to bring us a tea though is mostly unforgivable...

Thanks Geoff. Just seen Kate's retweet - love how @districtline has advised checking on JP

I'm going to rethink my routes, they're efficient but don't seem to easily adapt to the early evening non-expo trains, so I'm going to have to try some new ideas, possibly even some I've rejected. I might look at that double back we discussed - never used that on a run before

I do agree, it's pathetic to not be able to give reliable info - ultimately it's only likely to be crucial to tube challengers but could waste a lot of time for people expecting a direct Olympia service.
