TUBE 16 TANGY,TENACIOUS AND THROWING UP

Post by palkanetoijala31 »

This went ahead yesterday due to the vast amounts of delays which amazingly due to improvisation we advoided the delays but 17 changes of route plan cost us a lot of time.We only achieved a time of 18h 15m 21s this would have been a lot less with a good service as we wouldnt have to run at least 4 runs which we had to do unluckily we even had to run all the way from High Barnet to Cockfosters in 24 mins.

This on a perfect day would have smashed the GWR to pieces so we know we have a good route.

What on earth were you doing a tube challenge for in this weather?

This is Andi you're talking about, nothing can stop him from attempting the full network. He is like the Terminator or the Duracel Bunny.

I've always believed that tube challenging is seasonal with two distinct periods between late winter and early summer, and between late summer to early winter.

Any other time of year is just unhealthy. I did one in February once and I came down with the flu from hell.

Considering the current record was achieved on the 24th July (the height of summer surely) this view maybe irrelevant.

Not irrelevant - more disproved I'd say.

But then if you're stupid enough to run around the tube in temperatures such as we've been having recently then you either deserve it or you get what you deserve. I prefer a nice temperate tube challenge myself ...

The amount you sweat has nothing to do with weight loss. It's all to do with heart rate.

Well quite. One could argue that there's little point in doing it when you find yourself merely doing it for the sake of it.
