This is the first time that QI have increased their lead over us - they made two posts yesterday while we made none at all. If they continue to average two posts a day they'll get to 3000 in 25 days, which means we'd need to average nearly 13 posts a day to get there before them. So far we've averaged 7.4 posts a day, which isn't bad, but nothing like enough.

I reckon we can probably beat them to 3050 though.

Once again yesterday QI progressed by two posts while we didn't move. Their lead is now 267 - the same as it was four days ago. We've made 36 posts this week to their 11, which means that they're on course to reach 3000 in around four weeks' time. It'll take us nearly nine weeks at this rate, and we won't catch them up until around 3071, just before Christmas.

Maybe a target of "ahead of QI by Christmas" is more realistic?

No movement from QI for the last five days, and their lead is down to 250. An opportunity to make some progress?

QI are now on 2978 (262 ahead). They haven't moved for a couple of days though.

Actually it was 5.52pm. I had my timezone set to GMT instead of BST. If you don't have a login I think it displays American EST (or something like that).

Christmas!
Well let's see... they're on 3009 now, and there are 58 days left to Christmas. 58 days ago was August 31st, when they were on 2913. So if they continue at the same rate they'll hit 3105 by Christmas.

We're currently on 2730, so to catch them up we need to make 375 posts in 58 days - an average of nearly 6.5 a day. Which is certainly possible (we were averaging 7.4 a day a while back), but we need to raise the pace considerably. Over the last week we've only made 16 posts - about 2.3 a day.

QI are now on 3032 - 300 ahead of us. I can't see us making up that deficit by Christmas. On current form they're due to hit 3145 by then, which would leave us 413 to catch up, or about 7.8 a day. We've only made four in the last week.

Even the possibility of 3000 by Christmas looks unlikely - we'd need to average about 5 a day. Unless we do a "blitz" of course...

That's against the forum rules! "Only ONE account per person. This is a standard forum rule and it applies here too. Anyone found in possession of two accounts will have at least one of them deleted."
