I am slightly irritated by the way you seem to view this game as "your" game. You're very quick to say you'd lose interest, or that you don't like one particular part of the game, or that you think these should be the rules. No one else is making a huge fuss of this.

It's just a game. It doesn't really matter if someone posts 520 after 518, or if someone says "5 * 6 = 853". Greatkingrat is right in saying that the proposed rule on verifiable facts will result in stupid facts. People just love to subvert things when presented with an opportunity. I do it myself all the time.

The reason I haven't unlocked the thread yet is because I have no enthusiasm to deal with it yet. It's not the most important thread we have, and I'm sure you can live without it for a short while longer.

It is however one of the only threads running at the moment. Well, Tumbleweed is running, but that's hardly a thread. And there's the odd post about Sam and Matt's challenge and some things in the Off Topic pages, but apart from that...

If that's how you feel, then why did you feel the need to lock the original thread and create your own version of the game?

That's the way this forum goes, when people aren't out doing attempts, there isn't a great deal to talk about so it goes through quieter phases.

I would have thought with the FART coming up soon there'd be more talk!

And you're calling this "discussion" quiet?

(This is not a challenge - merely a point of information.)

On the game thread, nozzacook wrote:
Hal Linden was the special guest star on the 517th episode of the Muppets.
Nothing like 517 episodes were made of the Muppets - it ran for about five years. Wikipedia says there were 120 episodes plus two pilots:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_T ... w_episodes

The Hal Linden episode appears to be the 107th, although it's also listed as "5.17" (series 5, episode 17), which may account for the confusion.

EDIT: The Muppet Show Wiki uses the "517" style of numbering.

Wikipedia says 530, but I'm willing to be corrected.

There are three that have aired in America but not the UK. My apologies for not being specific enough.

The Orange One wrote:The 549 is numerically the last London bus service - running from Loughton to South Woodford via Buckhurst Hill, Roding Valley and Woodford. As I've mentioned in an earlier post, the 549 would be very useful for the Anti-Tube Challenge, though its once every hour frequency perhaps less so. It's one of the buses I haven't been on yet so I can't comment on conditions.
If you ignore the school/mobility buses, then the highest numbered London bus is actually the 607 from Uxbridge to White City.

I intended to add "standard" before London. The 607 is an express service.
