He then came up with the following psychoanalytic interpretation of why he chose the number 2467:

Now take the number that represents my age, 43, and add 24 years to it and you have 67! That is, to the question whether I wished to retire, I had expressed the wish to work 24 years more. Not very original, but as my fact is that at Trowell (Northbound) Services on the M25 has the PaybyPhone code of 2471 I can't complain.
