Feel free to play though. But you can't have it both ways. :)

Yes, I know that, but at least it's only done it once. And I suppose it does mean that people who don't play don't have to keep going in to Quizzes and Games to mark things unread.

Neil, I can't see where in the rules a claim for a non-multiple-of-five score is invalid. Please quote the rule number, or post the relevant section here in bold. I've always felt that the rules for a game should be as simple as possible without spoiling the game. Claiming four points, for example, does not spoil the game. So it should be valid; precluding such a claim is simply a waste of a rule.

In fact, all you ask (as far as I can see) is that x be a positive integer.

I have added rule 2a, which clarifies that AS I INTENDED IT RIGHT FROM THE START, points are only valid if claimed in multiples of five.

So four weed is, and always has been invalid. Hopefully that clears that up, and makes the rules file even more complex ...

I think Rule 2a needs amending, as (I thought) you can claim bells in any number as long as it's an integer number?

Ah right does that mean my claims for "1 bell" are invalid?

Well spotted. It has been amended to the difference between weeds and bells is defined. Claims for "1 bell" are NOT invalid, and I have not penalised anyone because I didn't type it properly. I have been scoring everyone the same since we started.

A few stats:

Highest scorer on 20/6/11 - greatkingrat with 150
Highest scorer on 21/6/11 - scrxisi with 510
Highest scorer on 22/6/11 - tubeguru with 320
Highest scorer on 23/6/11 - Sam with 300
Highest scorer so far today - The Raven with 195

Carry on ...

So is it just a daily competition or are you keeping the overall scores as well?

I have overall scores.

The way I'm doing it is having a daily high score, a weekly overall score and an OVERALL overall score. I think that should cover it.
I'm also not going to list down how everyone's score is compiled (e.g. scrxisi gets 150 points for two bells and then loses 30 points for claiming 30 weed after 28 minutes etc. That would just take up more time than I have!)

I'm sure you can trust me to be fair with the scores. After all, you can all see the game file, so feel free to waste your time going over your score if you really have no life at all. :)

Just putting it out there, but I think this game might work better with a definite end.

If we set it for a long time away (e.g. Jan 1st) it still has the potential for awesome bell scores, but with knowing that it won't continue ad infinitum and we will have an eventual winner.

Just an idea.

"5 weef" is clearly claiming for neither weefs nor bells. I contest the decision of tubeguru as posted in the game thread to penalise me on the assumption that that was a typo; it was in fact a cleverly constructed spoiler :)
OK, OK. Don't get your weefs in a twist. It counts as a spoiler.

Um... the rules clearly show examples of claiming 1 bell. (the rules need rewriting)
