Right then.
Had the SNCF (French national railway company) been created?

Are you either Joseph Duddington or Thomas Bray, in the cab of the Mallard which is moving at a world record speed, just south of Grantham on the ECML on 3rd July 1938 and feeling either triumphant, happy or something along those lines?

Yes (15/30)
- Hmm - and you can't ask more than two questions in a row...

I know that. I just didn't want to ask Joseph Duddington, get it wrong, then everyone discards the Mallard idea and Thomas Bray is announced at the very end.

Well I think The Orange One should take the credit for this one in any case. But just to put belt and braces on it:

Well it's got to be one or the other!

Yes! Got it in 16 questions!
I guess that's how he was feeling anyway, 'to a reasonable approximation' (as asked in the initial question.)
I think The Orange One should take 99% of the credit for this one though. Well done! Glad we got it done before I go away tomorrow.
Next! Who's gonna take it - GB or TOO?

Oh, definitely The Orange One - I had absolutely no idea about the Mallard and was nowhere near. And I messed it up by asking irrelevant questions about the date
I wonder if he's going to add yet another question word? "Why am I" could be interesting

I already have a 'six-question' version I'm working on... but can't do it just yet!
