It's only as an alternative, if there is no train from Tower Hill for a while. It's slightly quicker if I don't need to use it

Not sure getting a Circle round to Aldgate and then running to Aldgate East really counts as a "major new running link" though!

Incidentally, when Andrew and me set the record, we did do one out of station connection, but it wasn't that one. Bond Street was also still closed which cost us a few minutes coming back down from Kilburn.

There are a limited number of sensible starting places, and with Dollis Hill being the most practical D, and only one I, E-H are pretty obvious. L-R seem obvious too, with only one practical Q, and V and W are pretty much fixed, so there isn't a lot of variation in routes that can be taken.
I have a bus link in my route - very near the start! Also, I reckon there are two possible Qs to use...

I think I know the link you mean (because where can you go from Tower Hill), and it's certainly not a revolutionary one!

It's not actually from TH, it's if there are westbound not eastbound trains

Yes, it is a bone fide attempt, they did send photo and video evidence with their claim.

UPDATE- After some free time this morning i have a route which can be finished in Around 4 hours. connections permitting it should easly beat the current record of just under 5 hours. if connections are good my time could be around 4 hours 15.
