Top times: Full Network Challenge

Post by Nigel » 18 Sep 2011, 16:32

As unfortunately Scrxisi no longer has the time to maintain his previous excellent site of top times for various challenges, I thought that there should somewhere be at least a record of the the top times for completions of the full network under the current configuration. As the Guinness World Records site can't even keep its own records up to date, I have in the next post shown the top times taken from Scrxisi's data of all the full network completions since the opening of Heathrow Terminal 5 on 27 March 2008 (up until 11 October 2008 this was for 269 stations, after then, when Wood Lane opened, for 270 stations).

I will endeavour to keep this list up to date, and hopefully, in time, extend and improve the layout of the information. Of course, it can only be as good as the information supplied. If you spot any errors or ommissions please PM me.

Very good. Now do you have all the times from 2004 onwards?

There is a lot more information in Scrxisi's database, which I would hope to present in a useful format. However, my database skills are not great, so it may take a little time to get this into a format with which I am happy. I also suspect that this would need to be hosted separately from this forum's normal posts. In the meantime, with the current flurry of full network atempts, at least there is again a list against which these attempts can be benchmarked.

Nigel thanks for setting this up, I have commented before on other topics that it was most odd that we have a Top Times section that didn't have listings for the full network....
Twice former full network GWR holder and former Zone 1 Olympic and World Record holder with The Raven and Soupie
Tube personality of the year 2009
Twice Winter Olympic Biathlon Gold Medalist with The Beer Baron
2008 All Lines Olympic Gold

Am I right in thinking that somewhere on this forum is a complete list of record holders from whenever to the present?

I don't think there is a complete and up-to-date list on this forum, but Geoff has them superbly chronicled on his site: http://www.geofftech.co.uk/tube/others.html

Table updated to include yesterday's completion - the second slowest notified completion on the current configuration. It highlights how rare actual 270 completions are these days.

Nigel Iain surname is Mc Naughton by the way and out of those 38 my name appears 15 times.

Wow - first time I'm anywhere near 37th in the world at anything! :D

Not overly fussed but next time you do an update it's "MacNaughton" (as opposed to "Mc")

Next target is top 20
Full Network: Three completions, Best time: 17:18:18 - thanks Glen, Andrew and Rhys!
Former DLR 45 station record holder (with Glen, Andi and Stevo) - 2h:08m:57s
All lines: 46:11 (6th equal)
Zone One 2:52:51 (thanks Glen)
