If it is on a weekend then if should be after Z1 and not before because that gives people that live outside London the opportunity to travel into the big smoke and still only have a one night stay........joy54 wrote: I think the point of the R15 being a day before the Z1CC is that some people come travel to London especially for the event, if you have it the weekend before it could only really be an event for the regulars who live or can easily get to London. But I do agree with you that it should be before the Z1CC, obv. a vote will be needed!

I think Steven is right, we need a poll.

Re: Zone 1 Challenge - FRIDAY 29th MAY 2009 - ALL DISCUSSION
Last year it was the Friday night and a few of us did a South London in the afternoon as well. It worked out cheaper for me to travel down on el-cheapo ticket Thursday and go back Friday with a night stay than it did to do out-&-back on the Friday or out on Friday and back on Saturday.
I can't get a suitably cheap ticket on a Friday to get me to London in time for the Z1 @ 12:00 from Solihull/Dorridge.

Well the zone 1 quiz has been finished and just waiting for the date have 60 questions to choose from in a variety of catergories.
Would people prefer subjects such as Sport,Geography,Music etc or more specialised like vernacronyms.

We need to assemble a crack team of the Créme de la créme from this forum. Maximum team size is six people. Anyone who thinks that they have the credentials to join the team please PM me. We came within half a point of winning this quiz on our first attempt but since then its all been downhill.scrxisi wrote:TALKING OF QUIZZES (that are wholly inferior to the official Z1 quiz, sponsored by Finland)
Are we going to have one last crack at the one Beaconsfield?
One day I shall return!

And anyone reading this might want to know that there's a fantastic trick involving getting the BR from Waterloo to Vauxhall - it takes four minutes.
Re: Zone 1 Challenge - FRIDAY 29th MAY 2009 - ALL DISCUSSION
Will the SWT service from Vauxhall-Waterloo accept Oyster cards by then?
