A relative newbie? James you currently rank 2nd out of 108 Zone 1 attempts, hardly what I would call a newbie :)
One day I shall return!

I have had a lot of fun deciding which starting stations to nominate.

First, I identified ten stations which I would like to start from. Then, because multiple nominations do not go into the hat multiple times, I thought about which of those stations were likely to be nominated by others. By trying to ensure my nominations are unique, the chance of a station I like being drawn is greater. Of course, this could backfire if too many other teams also think like this, but I am assuming they won't.

Actually I am not too concerned where we start from, as long as it's not Victoria

It's interesting to think that, assuming 20 teams enter, we could have a maximum of 40 stations going into the hat, or a minimum of just two stations! The latter scenario would be particularly amusing, if extremely unlikely.

I do wonder why you all knacker yourselves out before a challenge by doing more challenges.

I went out for dinner.

In fact this week it was the challenge before the challenge before the challenge and had editorsfoot gone out on Tuesday it would have been the challenge before the challenge before the challenge before the challenge

Great stuff everyone! My northern friend Joy and I both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I was sorry to leave the festivities though; HÃ¥kan, what happened in your post-challenge game in the pub? I missed that!

I think I can join the consensus in thanking Hakan for what was a brilliant day!

Got back up to Norwich at about 0100 last night after a slightly scary coach journey... I'll probably add a bit more after the proper write-up comes out but suffice to say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it was great to finally meet you guys in the flesh!

A bit of a coincidence this afternoon ...

Geoff stayed at my place the last two nights and said goodbye to us this morning as he went to scrounge lodgings off someone else until he returns to the USA. My girlfriend and I then went out shopping and walking along Oxford Street, who should we see sitting outside HMV looking like a beggar but Geoff!

He didn't see us so we nipped into the shop and sneaked up on him, dropping some change into his lap and saying "there you go mate". He found it somewhat amusing.
