RMTumbleweed

Post by GuyBarry »

Here's a great new game that anyone on the forum can play! Starts at 9.30pm tonight and lasts until Friday morning.

(1) Name a Tube station.
(2) Wait for a train to run through it.
(3) Claim 1 point for every minute between (1) and (2).

Finally, a decent game we can all play!

I guarantee I will win. Or draw for first. According to the rules you have laid out.

I wasn't entirely serious...

Although if you're just allowed one claim in the whole of the strike period, is it that easy to guarantee a win?

Starts at 9:30pm today!! And you said "wait for a train to pass through it", so Kensington Olympia isn't a winning move. Not as easy as you think, but there is a way...

Well if you're going to take this seriously, we need to define "Friday morning" properly. So I'll say "the first scheduled service from that station on Friday morning".

An even better game would be to try to predict the amount of time to the next "Live Update" on the Mirror website. I'll leave you to work out a set of rules for that one.

I assume that by "runs through it", we're not allowed terminus stations? Plus, in the case of Ken O, if a freight train runs through the NR part of the station, I would say that that counts as a train passing through.

I think we can restrict ourselves to Underground trains here. And no termini.

Here's mine Holland Park. I was going to go with MHE until the no termini rule.

You seriously think a train is going to run through Verney Junction some time between now and Friday morning? Ditto Blake Hall?

Under the rules of the game as I drew them up, neither you nor tubeguru will be getting any points at all. Looks as though nozzacook's on course for victory.

(Although in fact none of those three entries were technically valid, since they were all before 9.30pm last night.)

We've named stations, and for every minute a train does not run through, our points rack up.

Although playing properly, Chigwell.
