As you can imagine, I have issues with the wording of several of your questions, but I don't have the time to point out the ambiguities right now.

I see joy54 also took advantage of that, for question one.

I also notice that for the colour on the tyres question, you have allowed three of us to enter "black" as an answer. I can only assume that you are happy to allow it because more than one person said it. Other answers which have taken advantage of the ambiguous nature of the questions have been penalised when only one person has given that answer.

I would have to agree with Tubeguru (well I would wouldn't I!).

With these quizzes, you either have to take it on the chin that the question was worded ambiguously and hand out the points, or like Kevin did in the last quiz, reclarify the questions and allow entrants to alter their answer.

Question 1 was worded "Name a Formula One World Champion who is currently competing in the 2013 season" - both constructors and drivers are 'Formula One World Champions' - the distinction is the word 'Drivers' or 'Constructors' in the title. This can be verified on Wikipedia (http://goo.gl/51hzx), the BBC website (http://goo.gl/oSSIv) and in the first paragraph of the official F1 rules and regulations (http://goo.gl/YaS1).
--It seems Tubeguru took advantage of a similar wording ambiguity in Question 7

Question 6 was worded "Name a driver who won both the Monaco Grand Prix and 24 Hour Le Mans race in there lifetime". Here Didier Peroni won the 24 Hour Le Mans race in 1978 but also won the Formula 3 Monaco Grand Prix one year earlier in 1977 ( http://www.formula2.net/F377_19.htm). Nowhere in the question was the Monaco Grand Prix clarified as the Formula 1 incarnation and thus all Monaco Grand Prix must be accepted.

You would have to say that a precedent has been set for 'out of the box' answers with Black being accepted for Question 4 and it doesn't make sense to accept one without the other?

I accepted "Black" as an answer since F1 tyres are well, black (with coloured indicators on them).

I do apologize for the ambiguous nature of question 1 and 7.

In my brain if I hear the term "World Champion" I only think of drivers.

It certainly does, but in spite of that, we can't take that to mean every question in the quiz is 100% orientated around Formula One. The quiz title is descriptive yes but you have to answer the questions as they are given. Question 6 clearly references non-F1 aspects (Le Mans) and it is not out of the question that Formula 3 as a feeder for Formula 1 would be appropriate.

Another example would be Kev's quiz which was titled Rock and Prog Rock but referenced Jazz and Folk music heavily in a couple of questions. Musicians and bands under these genres were accepted in a number of answers and no one mentioned anything.

Btw I think just to confirm definitively, whilst constructing the next quiz I read the rules that tubeguru kindly wrote and he did clearly state:
Try not to leave loopholes in the questions, as people like me will exploit them and demand one point for a unique answer (see steeevooo's last quiz). His topic was the London Underground, and he asked the question, "Name a station that starts with a vowel". Now as he didn't specify a London Underground station, I answered "Aberystwyth" and got a point for it. I suspect he assumed that because the topic of the quiz was "London Underground" we would all ASSUME that he meant an LU station. Not so! So try to avoid things like that for your own sanity ...

I was going to quote that (and other stuff) in my complaint that the quiz master had marked two of my answers incorrectly.

But I really can't be arsed. My policy now is that any quiz which contains badly-worded quizzes will simply be ignored.
