Aerial Photo of Station Thing Quiz #9
OK, as I'm on a roll, how about this forlorn-looking station? I won't give any clues yet, but if enough people ask, I may furnish you with a couple to get you on your way.
So where is it? Answers by PM to me please. The closing date is Wednesday the 15th of August at 18.30.

This has certainly got me thinking...

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!
Tangy.

Re: Aerial Photo of Station Thing Quiz #9
Well I got the impression that my previous choices were a little obvious. Are clues needed yet?

Not for me. Took a long time, but I got there. It's a hard life, jumping on and off trains all around the country, until you finally recognise the station... Answer submitted.tubeguru wrote:Are clues needed yet?

Re: Aerial Photo of Station Thing Quiz #9
OK, well let's see.
This station lies between two junctions, about eight miles apart by rail, and the line is single all the way between both. There are two trains a day in either direction on a weekday.
Anyone who has already submitted an answer may submit a revised guess based on the above, although I have already received the correct answer from one person.

Badly. I don't think that my answer was right but I can't think of any others.

Your second answer (as allowed by my post-clue rule) is correct. So rest easy.

Re: Aerial Photo of Station Thing Quiz #9
OK, the results of this quiz ...
The following people got it right:
Starkey
RobbieM
gkr
nozza
tangy
The answer was, of course, Melksham, Wiltshire. The line that runs through it is mostly used for diversionary services when other main lines are closed.
Going Underground said "Par" before I gave the clue, and he neglected to amend his answer as allowed.

Re: Aerial Photo of Station Thing Quiz #9
Would more people use it if it had a half-decent service?
