Can you identify a station from just a paving slab? Sadly, some people can

Mornington Crescent

Post by The Raven »

Anyone up for a game? I'll keep score.

We will be playing standard rules, Version Six. Therefore, double-backs must be adjacent to your opponents previous move. Got it?

I'll start...

Well that rules out anything in zone 1, so EALING BROADWAY with a half-twist.

Via "Piltdown Rule" I'll move us to:

NORWOOD JUNCTION

Scores will be announced once "Mornington Crescent" has been correctly called.

Seeing I have never experienced this game before, and as they don't seem to be outlined anywhere, I'll be picking up the rules as I go along. Bearing that in mind, I'll attempt a walk to WOOD LANE.

Not a bad first move, but be careful you don't invoke knip too soon in the game.

I should just like to point out that I have moved this thread into "Quizzes and Games", as it is NOT a never-ending game. It will end when a valid move to Mornington Crescent is made.

And, on that subject:

The playing of a red token counts as double-wild. Good job you were on the Central line.

But this is Version Six not Version Five so once Mornington Cresent is called the game will be reset with the next post. There's 256 points up for grabs at the moment if a correct call is made. Unfortunately, I can't do it so...

You're not allowed to repeat, are you? Or am I getting confused with Version One?

Not usually but you are (and have to) when stuck in a Dollis Hill loop. However I'll sacrifice Seven Sisters and play NORTHOLT.

As Seven Sisters can only be sacrificed by travelling east on a Sunday the move to Northolt is invalid which means we are at DOLLIS HILL

Oh dear, the Northolt gamble didn't pay off there.

I'm not sure whether we actually moved to Northolt before returning to Dollis Hill, or whether we remained the Dollis Hill the whole time. This means I have to be careful with splitting the diagonals here.

GRANGE HILL. Mind the sausage!
