Rare Entries Quiz II

OK, so since I think this was quite popular last time, here's episode two of the Rare Entries quiz. The rules are as before, and the scores from this round will be added to those of the last one to produce running totals.

In case you somehow missed the first quiz, and haven't read the Christmas Rare Entries Quiz topic, the idea is to come up with an answer to each question that you think no one else will give, preferably one that no one else gives. The questions have a differing number of possible answers, and I have tried to word the questions so there is no ambiguity. I'm sure someone will find a way to defeat me. The points system is the same as the CRE quiz (q.v.).

I was going to make this one a mix of railway and non-railway questions, but in the end decided on a complete set of non-railway stuff. PM me your answers and then we'll all have a big argument about it afterwards. I can't remember how long GKR gave us on the first quiz but I seem to remember it was too long, so how about we say a week? Is that long enough?

Unless people object to a week, the deadline currently Sunday the 6th of March 2011 at 22.30.

Here are the questions:

1. Name one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
2. Name a constellation of the Zodiac
3. Name an English monarch who ruled between 1500 and 1649 inclusive
4. Name a James Bond film in which the title role is played by either Sean Connery or Roger Moore
5. Name a street on a standard UK Monopoly board (one which makes up one of the coloured property sets only; no stations, utilities etc.)
6. Name an English county whose name ends in "shire"
7. Name an Abba song which went to number one in the UK or the Republic of Ireland between 1974 and 1981
8. Name a country which has won the Eurovision Song Contest between 1980 and 2010 inclusive
9. Name a football club who have won the FA Cup four or more times
10. Name a US president who has taken office since 1920

Having just looked at the scores for the first quiz, I notice that some people have astronomical scores, so I'm tempted to reset the scores and start from zero for this round.

I know Edgemaster will probably feel hard done by, but jamesthegill gets a result, so it's swings and roundabouts.

No harm in scoring the rounds one-by-one and keeping a running total just out of curiosity though, surely? But would you add or multiply the scores together?

I can keep all the scores alongside each other, yes.

I would add them if I combined them - why would I multiply them?

Well the scores for each question in the quiz are multiplied together, so it makes some sort of sense for the scores for each quiz to be multiplied as well. Either way it is inevitable you will end up with some large numbers sooner or later.

Well quite - multiplying different rounds makes no mathematical sense to me.

What follows is just my opinion ...

GIven that performances on different questions within one quiz are combined by multiplication, I'd also use mutliplication to combine performances between quizzes.

I'm with jbom too, even though I'd stand to lose monumentally, I feel it's logical.

OK, as a few of you have expressed this opinion, the cumulative scores will be multiplied. What's everyone's opinion on the Christmas scores being included in the overall scores?

I can't understand why people's points for each question are multiplied in the first place. It's the first quiz I've ever seen that's done such a thing
