It's back, the fifth installment of Tangy's rail brainbenders... and here is the next batch of questions to give you a mental workout..

1. The class 322 units were originally built for use on which route?

2. What is the highest point above sea level on the WCML?

3. Excluding the Island Line, which NR operated third rail route is physically isolated from the rest of the third rail network?

4. Name another line that fits the above criteria.

5. When refering to freight trains, what does the term merry-go-round mean?

6. How many stations are served solely by trains operated by XC?

7. There is currently only two operational loops on the whole Heart of Wales line, Llandrindod is one, where is the other?

8. Rose Street curve is useful for trains to bypass/avoid which station?

9. Which loco class/es use the Red Diamond Coupling system to work in multiple with each other?

0. Apart from the newly built platform at London KX, what other station has a Platform 0 (zero)?

As usual you get two weeks to submit your answers, thus please can you make sure all entries arrive by 20:00 on Monday 26th July. Thankyou.

I'm definately entering this one, only because I'd be mad not to for a certain question :P

That would be question "0" then.

And yes, that does sort of give a clue to everyone else, but they're a bit harder this time round.

He hasn't given one per se, but I suppose if you know anything about him you may be able to work it out.

You obviously know him better than I do!

You only need to know one thing about him, and you know it you berk.

Couple that with the fact that I should also know the answer to this and you're in.

I'm well aware of the answer but I don't see the relevance to either you or Garion!!

With the foregoing correspondance in mind, there are two answers to this particular question...

I really don't see what is confusing you here, unless someone removed platform 0 from the station we're looking for and put it somewhere else ...

OK, so there are actually two answers to this question Tangy. I didn't know the third until Sam just told me.

Also, to clarify ... questions three and four are confusing.

You need to define "the rest of the third rail network". Now one assumes you mean the Southern and SWT regions when you say "third rail network". Question three then sort of implies that there is only one other such line/area. You then ask for third in question four!

I know the answer to question three as I think you intended it, and I can also think of two answers for question four, but it's a bit hazy as to what exactly you're looking for.
