Moscow Metro System
I think without question the most beautiful underground system in the world is in Moscow
Unfortunately a "Tube Challenge" wouldn't allow you time to take in the fantastic scenery of these "Underground Palaces"
I was fortunate enough to travel on some of the system whilst I was studying Russian at school some years ago. The other striking thing about it how clean everything is and the lack of litter and rubbish.
A couple if links are here

Legend has it that they were showing the map of the current system to Stalin when he came to visit the underground. After they told him about the system and asked him what he thought of it, he put his coffee cup on the map, leaving a brown circled stain on it. They thought it was a stroke of genius from the big leader, built it and kept the brown colour on the map.standclearofthedoors wrote:I love the moscow map- it really IS the circle line!
(Well according to the map, & its a lot better than a bottle/ bagpipes)
It's a beautiful system; what's nice to see is that the new stations being built right now are just as great-looking.

It's the underground system that has the longest stretch literally underground, and the one with the highest ridership.

In Mr Beck's underground map is a sketch by Beck where he attempted to draw the circle line as an ellipse, looks rather strange compared to the normal bottle.tubeguru wrote:I may be wrong (and I can't be arsed to check my own copy) but Max Roberts in "Tube Maps After Beck" may have a diagram of London with the Circle line as a circle in it.

In the proposed 2016 scheme the shape is changing again.editorsfoot wrote:In Mr Beck's underground map is a sketch by Beck where he attempted to draw the circle line as an ellipse, looks rather strange compared to the normal bottle.tubeguru wrote:I may be wrong (and I can't be arsed to check my own copy) but Max Roberts in "Tube Maps After Beck" may have a diagram of London with the Circle line as a circle in it.

You will need a new name for the bottle challenge I'm afraid.
