We completed it, just wanted to process photos/videos before posting.
6 hours 10 minutes was the time. The 10 minutes frequency doesn’t much help, there were some late trams too.

Nope, and neither the one at Trafford Bar. We had a very chatty driver up and down Altrincham.

Trafford bar as well now you've got to be joking. I've sent an email to transport for greater Manchester about these, still awaiting a reply though
Was the driving moaning about the speed limits being so low by any chance

just found this idea

Morrisonlink:

Eccles
Anchorage
Chortlon
Failsworth
Newbold
Whitefield

Think Edge Lane is too far to be counted TBH.

Plus, with the exception of Failsworth, they are all REALLY close to the stops!

No, they were just overly chatty.

Hi all,

I attempted have attempted the Metrolink Challenge twice, but haven't been able to post until now as my account hadn't been activated!

The first time was on the 93 station network, and my time was 6 hours 24 minutes and 24 seconds to visit all 93 stops. This was done on 5th Jan 2019, and it was a day that Northern Rail were on strike, so I considered it a decent but not amazing time. I started at Altrincham and finished at Manchester Airport.

After the Trafford Park line opened, I thought it was high time to attempt the challenge again and set a record on the 99 station network.

This was attempted on 27th Aug 2020 and I have photographic evidence of the run if that's needed to make it official.

My time was 5 hours, 58 minutes and 56 seconds to visit all 99 stops, which I believe beats the time set by dwmcload on the 28th Aug 2020 by about 11 minutes and makes me the current record holder for the 99 stop network.

The run was complicated by the low tram frequency at that point, and I was lucky to catch a few connections.

I'm not going to publicly reveal my start/finish stations for this time until someone beats it!

It was raining in Manchester yesterday but using only public transport, I visited all 99 Metrolink tram stops in 5 hours, 53 mins and 25 secs, which I think is a new WR.

Nice job beating the record. I shall have to try and take it back some time.

I started in Altrincham and finished in Ashton

I am thinking about attempting the Metrolink Challenge in December. I have never done one of these before, but I am excited to make an attempt. I'm sure it will be a very stressful day of missing trams by seconds and what not. I have two routes that I am debating between but will make a decision on it later. This will probably be an unofficial attempt (My plans might change before December) since I have not yet found an independent timer and will probably spend my time looking out at the Greater Manchester scenery instead of updating a journal. I will be very happy with myself if I can get under 6 hours on my first attempt.

As the Metrolink challenge isn't recorded by Guinness, there's no need for an independent timekeeper or journal, unless you want them.

Ah thank you! I wasn't sure how intense people wanted to be on this site.

Thinking around mid December, so in a couple weeks time. I have a few things that I need to do in my life that are still up in the air so I don't have solid plans yet.
