Well, well, bang on my prediction then... I PM:ed Soup Dragon yesterday predicting EXACTLY this. During the day today I reconstructed their route (maybe) and - voila - there it was: a 23:24 finish to be the most likely... Amazing what a little math and programming can do!

CONGRATULATIONS to the MAGNIFICENT 7!

That was just the time that Rachel gave on the radio, I hadn't spoken to anyone from the team directly.

I'm a bit disappointed, really: the station hasn't mentioned her challenge since 1900, and they only gave her about a minute to speak before they took a call from a listener about something altogether different and much less important... they've been talking about toothbrushes all evening.

a great non wait at heathrow because of a train up the back side and a quick cross platform change made in under 18h they offer thanks to their considerable back up team without them they would have never made 18h or the record.

What a master blaster of a time! Congratulation stations!

If this is indeed true, I will add another record to each of the Magnificent 7's stats. This gives Beer Baron and Rachel Brabbins the best possible success index of 4.

It was amazing evening with 4 support people all in different places around the network and a rouge T4 train which only waited 2 minutes at T4 and then Matt Scrivin holding a Piccadilly line train at HT123 just as we got it. This is going to be one of the best write ups ever when Anthony gets round to it.

wow what a day. unfortunatly, due to the red bull i drank for the drive home, i can't get to sleep! i'll leave the write-up to the new record holders themselves, but the last 2 hours of the challenge were certainly incredibly exciting, and i was happy to be involved and hold that final train at T123 along with the other Matt that brought them under the 18hr mark! you all should have heard Lorna Milton's squeal on the phone to Rachel when she'd told her they'd done it!

also i think there was another record broken tonight by me and Matt for the world's largest ever McDonalds order!!!

Well I can officially confirm that the finishing time was indeed 17:56:28 as reported by Rachel Brabbins last night. I will do a full write up a bit later, but before that I wanted to say a very big thank you to the support team.
Ollie who started the stopwatch and stayed with us well into the day, Phil Booth joined us for around 4 hours mid morning, and the evening crew Matt Nunn, Matt Scrivin, Steve Karahan & Martin Hazel got us over the finishing line. We also had regular text service updates from Andi James, Nozza Cook & James Tong. All together a huge team effort so thanks to all involved. :D
One day I shall return!
