Well here were are with the points of technicality over whether the route 'belongs' to anyone...
Considering Sam, Steve and myself used that route on two previous occasions for world record attempts - it couldn't necessarily be considered that i'm a helper using the route for his own gain. I consider myself a team member who was unable to make the attempt on the day (and sadly missed out on a world record for himself as well) but it's hardly fair to say after putting in a lot of ground work with the logistics and planning over two previous attempts AND assisting them with this record attempt that I am now no longer allowed to attempt it using this particular route.
Oh, and another thing - I give Steve full credit for devising almost all of this route, with a couple of minor tweaks by myself. Therefore, had I been there on the day with my teammates, would it be 'unfulfilling and lazy' to use Steve's route? Personally, I feel that this route is collective property amongst the three of us.

It is amazing what you can produce on a pc these days with copy, paste and paint etc....
Seriously though may congrats to you both and the support team.....
I can only imagine what the tension and exitement was like on that last train to Upminster, not really having any idea if you would get the GWR or not until the very end......
So I wonder if Geoff is going to be tempted to come across the pond and reclaim the crown?

Well, you could use Tube 7 if you wanted, as you didn't help with that one (even though it was our world record route).
Tube 8 - not too fussed either. I'll be honest and say that I think you'd suffer on the runs, so may have to alter it, in which case it's not actually route 8 is it?
I suppose I should only care if I wanted to go and get the record back any time soon.

With a route bodged up in a few hours and not testedStarkey7 wrote:That's brilliant, you two! Many congratulations on snatching the record. You'd better enjoy it while it's there, though, because Team TNT and Starkey are soon going to be the new record holders...

Er, well it was only about fifty minutes actually! I was looking at the map while having dinner and watching TV with my housemates, and just started to connect bits up here and there. It's almost fallen into place now though.
Yes, it is pretty much a total bodge! If we manage to reach Heathrow that night I'll laugh my head off.

Considering our team and 275 experience it will be miracle if we manage to get to Heathrow having done the entire networkStarkey7 wrote:Yes, it is pretty much a total bodge! If we manage to reach Heathrow that night I'll laugh my head off.
