Something I learned today is that the Anytime Zones 1-9 travelcard goes on an Oyster card if you buy a week long ticket. This is useful for me because I'm planning to do my Acclimatisation practice directly before 'the day' so to speak.

But does having the necessary travelcard on an Oyster card cause the same problems as the PAYG version

When are you planning on doing it

I've now moved it to March because of a few reasons. Obviously Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms are opening shortly and I'm hoping Heathrow Terminal 4 will have reopened if I choose to do it next year

There's also the problem of the Piccadilly Line not stopping at South Kensington station, officially until next spring, although I suppose the work on the escalators may be completed more quickly.

I've already worked out a work around for that. Will have to wait until I can get down to London to check it out

Today was my birthday and my parents got me a small holdall to use on my Tube Challenge which is fantastic as it can hold a drink and some snacks and there is a space for my ticket, spare pens and such like. I haven't yet tested if my chosen notebook goes in it, but that's fine since it will probably be carried in my hand all the time anyway

Why would this be an issue? You could well use the District and Circle lines there anyway and it's not somewhere you normally change?

I’ve used it loads on FNC’s a very handy way of dealing with the green park Picc line to the bottom of the circ / Dist.

interestingly enough seeing as most tube challengers on here are fearful of the c word and mask wearing i was in london saw hardly any masks being worn despite the c word that im not allowed to mention because of admin being paid and coerced by the elite\! so why not trust the good free oxygen being pumped into ur lungs which in turn helps u fight virus by ur lungs getting nice deep breaths of the free stuff called oxygen.

I’m happy to tube challenge and will do once compulsory mask wearing is removed from TFL. Restricted breathing and fogged up glasses take the fun out of it very quickly.

As per Golf used the tube for the first time since the plandemic to go to Leyton Orient last week and was delighted to see that almost half the passengers were not wearing face nappies :) As indeed neither was I....

I have a bad feeling about this, though, Nozza. The Mayor has said that he will keep masks "as long as the virus is with us", so... basically, forever? (Or until he gets voted out, I suppose...)

The thing is we all know there is a big difference between quietly travelling around the network unnoticed. And charging through the stations shouting “tube challenger coming through” and landing on the train in a sweaty mess. We would very much run the risk of a jobs worth quoting condition of travel, the very least insisting we wear a mask if we want to travel and worst case slinging us off the network.

With a challenge costing me £200 by the time I’ve travelled up and stayed a night or 2. At the moment I can’t see the point if I can’t do it in comfort.

I hope we can we all get a cut of what you're being paid by the "elite" :D
