Thanks for the tip, Geoff. Annoyingly, I had a gut feeling it was an Olympia, but lacked the confidence to jump and hope. Actually, that's probably one of the biggest lessons from Saturday - having the confidence to 'go for it.'geofftech wrote:Earls' Court -> you can often do this without looking. If it's a C stock, you know it's going to Wimbledon. If it's a D Stock with passengers, it's going to Richmond/Ealing, and if it's an D-Stock with considerably less passengers (sometimes, empty!) then it's an Olympia train! And don't forget that the District trains have their own DMI's on the side telling you where they're going, I always look out for those...

I'm pretty sure I was on a D stock train on the main section that was going to Wimbledon, I remember seeing Wimbledon inside the train on the electronic thingy and I could hear the hiss and clicking of the doors closing.geofftech wrote:Earls' Court -> you can often do this without looking. Geoff's statement isn't incorrect, as C stocks will only go to Wimbledon. What he neglected to say is that D stocks go from Upminster direction to Wimbledon too. Those trains will likely have many more people than an Olympia train, though!

Might have been going in one direction only...Cheshire Cat wrote:I meant to say that, somewhere early on (Charing X, maybe?) I heard the announcement: "Complete closure on Waterloo & City, otherwise Good Service all lines." Could someone explain to me how you could have a PARTIAL closure on W&C? Train pulling out of Bank, going halfway and then reversing back again?

Isn't there only one track on the W&C or have I gone mental again?
