First attempt - 17/11/11

Post by snudge27 »

As some of you already know, I'll be out tomorrow looking primarily for a completion but potentially a record depending on how things pan out.

I'm fundraising for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and if you wish to you can donate via www.justgiving.com/stillplayswithtrains

Throughout the day I'll be tweeting on @tubechallenger using the hashtag #iliketrains, so if you want to keep up with how I'm doing, this is where to look!

Right, I'm off to bed so I'll let you know how I get on!

Good luck.

Will be following with interest as in early planning stages for my first attempt (completion NOT record) once the weather warms up again.

Epping is always a cheery place or maybe the thought of Geoff waiting for him at Woodford cheered him up ;)

Well, i can tell you that he's had bad connections at about three places early on this morning, but as i always do - i told him to keep going as you never know what's going to happen. eg. whilst up at Woodford we saw a Central line train going to Hainault via Woodford that had come up from the city <- yes, you read that right, a bonus Hainault service that wasn't in the timetable, and hadn't started at Woodford.

We then saw the '62 stock Rail Adhesion train twice scuttling around the loop section. We left James on the VIctoria line heading into town and he's going to keep going and and not quit!

Quick update after nine hours...

Now on an Olympia train, which will bring me up to 126/270.

Fortunes have been mixed so far, with some bad luck early in the day having a massive effect on everything else (I should have been at Olympia about 9ish!).

Either way, I'm still having fun and it was a pleasant surprise to have Geoff come and join the fun for a couple of hours!

More later...

Really sorry I missed you today. Was planning to visit you around Woodford, but events caught up with me, then I lost my phone signal for 1.5 hours around the time you came through.
