True, but the only people that matter are those at Guinness.

Well they started in the North West corner and things have not gone very well.. There have been problems with leave fall and in their words "the crap service"
As of 0930hours they were 30mins down but ploughing on and hoping for better luck...

I can confirm that the service was indeed "CRAP" today as myself and Soup Dragon were doing 3 hours research before going to work...... :(

I could have warned you about the perils of doing a challenge in October. Leaves are a serious problem for any railway, not just some silly reason for commuters to bash us.

I'd have left October and November well alone and waited until December. That whole north west corner is very susceptible to adverse weather so you have to take it into consideration when going out.

Now an hour down, the bad luck continues and they have seen 3 lots of trains doors close just as they were approaching them.... :(

They are now considering the possibility of aborting today and going out tomorrow from a different start point.......

UPDATE 1315 Hours

Well the title of this topic couldn't have been less apt... They have officially aborted and now heading off for a route planning session to see if they can come up with anything from a NON North West start on Thursday.....
