Bearing in mind that this was relayed to me via my mother, she says she *thinks* it was BBC1.

But apparantly LU will be checking the system on Wednesday to make sure it's safe to re-open on Thursday. Or something to that effect.

Er, this is BIG news. it means we can do all 275! Wow. What happened to all that "it'll be months.." business that was being banded about?

Update: news story here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4736299.stm

I had previously heard that LU would announce the opening date of the Piccadilly Line this Thursday, rather than actually re-opening it this Thursday. However, this news story seems to differ!

Even better!

It's officially a fully operating network as of TOMORROW!

Actually, they talk about all stations being served and the resumption of the Piccadilly line service.

They don't actually mention the resumption of the Circle line.

Hmmm...

Go on, then. Be picky!

But at least we can still do a full challenge!

The Circle line is not running due to lack of availability of trains. This is mainly due to trains being stuck away from the maintenence depot at Hammersmith for a few weeks, and thus needing routine maintenence, rather than lack of availabity due to three cars being damaged.

Hmm

That was pretty bad planning... although my route needs very little of the northern section of the Circle anyways :)
