Paris Metro : New record

Post by geofftech »

Someone's gone and done it in 9 hours, 53 minutes. You'll need to be good at French though! I can just about cobble together the first paragraph. Full translation, anyone?

I would have had a go, but I'm busy preparing for a French exam in a couple of days.
What would I know? - I'm from Yorkshire for starters...

I now have the correct English translation thanks to my French friend, Helene.

Sadly, I can't let you see it because I believe in striving to attain that which you desire by working for it and not by being handed it on a plate (he said, giving it to his friend to do for him *ahem*)

Cool ! A lot of people :)

What are you thinking of the name "runderground" ?

Do you have some special needs for a computer program wich can help us to beat records ? I started a computer challenge for 2 programs, 1 for calcul and 1 for visualisation, and i will pay 1 tshirt of their choice to each winner :)

From what I gather, this record seems to be of the Metro stations within the Paris boundary only. Is this correct? And if so, is it actually an official record? Because surely all Metro stations must be visited. I'm sure the whole system could not be done in a sub-10 hour time, because it is huge and has more than 300 stations.

"Metro stations within the Paris boundary only" : yes
There is no "official record", this was done afaik only one time before in 12+ hours for the same boundary only run.

I'm also sure that the whole system can't be done under ... maybe ... 13+ hours ... cause you have to go in the end of somes lines and you loose a lot of shorcuts where you can run or take a bus instead of come back to take a change.

The whole system is not funny, the "boundary only" : yes cause you can try some tricks.

There is an official record for Moscow and I think Paris too. Moscow I remember was held by two British people. But I can't remember about Paris.

There are more stations (369), but it is also more condensed (i.e. less spread out) than London.

There IS an 'unofficial' record for doing the whole thing: 14 hours 54 minutes and 18 seconds, which is detailed at the following website:
