Re: Most awkward station

Harrow and Wealdstone won't be that awkward if they ever sort out the Croxley link, which looks increasingly unlikely sadly.
The exit to avoid doubling back to reach the Uxbridge branch = nuisance.greatkingrat wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 21:58 If you still have to go to West Ruislip, I don't see how Ruislip Gardens is difficult.
Not for the first time - what are you talking about?!Brighton Local wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021, 00:58The exit to avoid doubling back to reach the Uxbridge branch = nuisance.greatkingrat wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 21:58 If you still have to go to West Ruislip, I don't see how Ruislip Gardens is difficult.
As a nyc subway challenge, double back is the bane of that challenge. Mid to upper Ruislip branch Central line is a lot like that. The sort of route that if not dealt with, double back and all the away around back to Rayners and Uxbridge is going to take a great deal of time to resolve.Steeevooo wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021, 09:23Not for the first time - what are you talking about?!Brighton Local wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021, 00:58The exit to avoid doubling back to reach the Uxbridge branch = nuisance.greatkingrat wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 21:58 If you still have to go to West Ruislip, I don't see how Ruislip Gardens is difficult.
As a former NYC Subway Challenge record holder and current joint London record holder, I'd like to think that I know a fair bit about what I'm talking about! If you are intending to ride out to West Ruislip and double back, then surely West Ruislip becomes more inconvenient than Ruislip Gardens though? Indeed, any terminal station becomes rather inconvenient if you intend to stay fully within the confines of the network.Brighton Local wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021, 17:56As a nyc subway challenge, double back is the bane of that challenge. Feel free to disagree but pov and prove wrong is the best medicine.
The only time it's mildly inconvenient is when one is having to run from Ickenham, up the hill to West Ruislip, at about 7 pm and past a few pubs. A half of ale was rather tempting at that time of the evening I must say!!Steeevooo wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021, 09:59As a former NYC Subway Challenge record holder and current joint London record holder, I'd like to think that I know a fair bit about what I'm talking about!
