Event 5 of Tube Olympics 2018 is the marathon, a full network challenge. This will be held on Friday 23rd February 2018.

All 270 London Underground stations to be visited in the fastest time (which for a completion will take circa 16 hours), so requires a full day and a good dose of stamina.

You may start at any station you wish, the challenge will be conducted using standard Tube Challenge rules. Due to the length of this event, there will no end meeting point, medals and results will be given at the closing ceremony after Event 6 the next day.

Entries for this event are now open.

I will be available as support from around 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, depending on how soon I can get out of my seminar at uni that day, if anyone wants it, I can be contacted by DM. I will also keep track of how many stations I visit as well.

Why not, just have to make any kind of journey on LU to qualify :)

I think I may attempt a minimal planning route from Chesham, planning no more than an initial manoevre and a rough route sketch. Will then spend the whole day worrying about getting to Olympia at the right time

I finish work at midday - wonder if a route finishing 6am the next day would be legit!

Trouble is that unless you're going to finish somewhere 'unusual' like Cockfosters, Night Tube isn't a lot of help.

The Sub-Surface lines aren't included (ruling out a NW or Upminster finish), the Terminal 4 loop isn't included (effectively ruling out a Heathrow finish) and nor is Hainault-Woodford or Loughton-Epping.

I don't think NIght Tube helps you get a fast route, but it can help get a completion - just plan to finish on Night Tube lines.

Remember too that if you're using a One Day Travelcard your last journey must start before 4:30 am.

Well, I've just booked the day off work. Guess I'm doing this

I can offer support if I haven't managed to get my act together and come up with a route.

As long as you keep your watch running I guess you can finish anytime before the final results are revealed at the pub on Saturday...

I plan to start at Chesham and would be happy to team up!

If you time it right you could run from Edgware to Stanmore and do Canons Park parkrun on the way!
