"ETY" trains in WTT?

Post by lellama » 01 Feb 2017, 18:22

Does anyone know if the trains marked as "ETY" were available to passengers and just not in passenger timetables, or if they are just available for staff. If they carry passengers, would it count as a 'scheduled service' as stated in the official rules?. The explanation in the WTT key is a bit vague.
Thanks

What part of the description is not clear?
Empty train, may convey Train Operators and Detrainment Staff.

But... can they carry off-duty LU staff if they have their passes with them? That could give certain Forum members a distinct advantage ;-)

in theory I suppose someone who could get access into Lille bridge depot would have a distinct advantage in the full network challenge as they be able to arrive into Ken o early morning.

not that I would ever attempt the full network myself.

I believe there's also some from Earl's Court to Ken O in the evening which could be very useful if permitted - can't think why they'd want them empty though. Out of curiosity, any ideas?

No, it's scheduled public transport. If the public can't use it, it wouldn't count.

Maybe empty trains don't count, but being able to ride in the cab of the train gives you an improved door position at certain stations...

The simple answer is there are no LU staff at Olympia to help empty out the trains, so it is easier to run them out of service from HSK.

Ah I see, thanks. So would the doors not open at Earl's Court?

From the WTT it looks like the trains go out of service at High Street Ken. I guess they don't want to block the platform at Earls Court while they empty out the train.
