Easiest route, for those that just want a completion?

As one can probably infer from the title of this post, I am looking for a route which is very easy for new tube challengers to use (including not much running) and can be done slowly (i.e. starts very early and ends very late). I am planning on doing the Tube Challenge quite soon, but the route that is planned (based on the Walk The Tube 2016 one) does not allow us to make the last Chesham train. Therefore, we shall only be able to get a 269/270 - which is quite obviously not what we want.

I am therefore asking to see if somebody would possibly like to share a route that would work to this specification (also needs to cover Olympia on a non-exhibition day). It would be a great help to me and my friends.

I have also done some thinking about the route myself. An evening Olympia train might possibly be integrated into the Labyrinth route, which would obviously work. However, if the T4 branch is not covered due to a mess-up earlier, the whole day would be ruined at the last moment.

It is also evident that the first and last train times should be considered, which leads to me thinking that Wimbledon to Morden could work as a route (I know that this has been used in the past).

Is a modified Labyrinth the way to go? Or is there another route that I should consider?

Thank you very much in advance.

My 'modified labyrinth' can in theory be done in 16:14 (i.e. equal to the previous record) and I think it may be possible to get it down to 15:51. However my recce runs last year both went wrong pretty quickly, though I think down to a combination of my ineptitude and operational issues.

On your route, you presumably sprint connections. Assuming that you don't, how badly will the time be affected?

I'm part way through working out a route by just walking connections. Not sure on exact time though. Will post once worked out!

Are you going to post the route when you have finished the making? I am quite honestly confused why mine doesn't seem to work...

Probably. It would be easier to PM though, if you really do just want a route to use.

Maybe you just have to many connections, thus slowing your route down meaning you don't make the final train

This is quite likely, especially with my extreme double-back that wastes 40 minutes + waiting time. Because I am going to Poland soon, and when I return I have about a week before my attempt, I am going to have to hurry up my route planning (I probably won't have internet in Poland so I'll print out the timetables, etc.). Hopefully I'll have a route that works by the time I should do the challenge.

Thanks for the help!

Shepherd's Bush, having just come back from Epping, go back to Oxford Circus, then to Stockwell (Brixton actually), then to Morden ... only to go back again to Victoria!

Sorry, couldn't say - on both recce attempts I just missed connections in the Southwark area, which led to a 20 minute delay by the time I'd been out to Upminster and back to Aldgate. As a rough estimate I reckon on my running time (when fit) being about 2/3 of the walking time given on Google Maps. I'm not convinced walking all connections would give a time capable of being completed in a day.

My comment was more aimed at showing that it is possible to amend Labyrinth to take account of the lack of daytime Olympias.

I think I am going to use yours mainly but I might combine the two to sort out little problems! Thank you for your route as well, I was actually on my way to send you a message!
