I was recently talking to a TFL member of staff who seemed to think that the central part of "Crossrail" would be classified as a tube line. Does anyone have any info on this?

Reading start anyone? And don't forget the Slough to Amersham run, and while you're at it the Shenfield to Ongar run as well...

It's not operated by LU. So would not be required for the record.

Wouldn't Uxbridge be closer than Amersham?

I would agree that this appears likely.

And Acton Main Line would be the only station not served by LU trains as well anyway, so there wouldn't be much point in using it

How on earth did you dream this one up?

There's either 30 or 32 stations on the Crossrail route not served by LU (depending how you count the Heathrows) so I don't see how you can reduce this figure down to 1!!

But the original post in this topic only said the central section, and I don't think think Reading is central

Acton Main Line isn't central either!! That would be Paddington to Stratford/Abbey Wood I'd imagine.

And how can you say part of the line is a tube line and the rest isn't?

That's what I was confused about in the first place! That's like saying only Stratford to White City on the Central Line is a Tube line!
