Or perfect evening connection, which looks more likely. That said, I think a perfect evening MUST be the fastest way to do Olympia. Either that or they got ridiculously lucky.

Evening trains. I've completed using one before, but that was a Heathrow-gone-wrong start.

I'm pretty sure you can't get to Olympia in time from a NW start unless you skip Watford or something

Agreed it's a wind up and somehow they have blagged this into a GWR... As has been said many times before it's very easy to piece together enough evidence without visiting all the stations in a day

Absolutely nothing about this on Twitter if you search "tube challenge". And no Ronan McDonalds worthy of mentioning (apart from an Aussie cricketer).

What actual evidence do you have to doubt the claim?

It's now on Wikipedia, so it must be true.

I do find it a little strange that I can't find any other references anywhere.

If Ronan and/or Clive are out there reading this: Congratulations! Please say hello.

Relying on an evening Olympia is a risky strategy, but it obviously paid off. I kind of agree with Kev on this one, to get the GWR it takes a certain dedication that in recent years Andi and Geoff have displayed. I still doubt Marc Gawleys attempt and I am sceptical on this one. I mean the amount of times for both Andi and Geoff I'm sure the tube has cocked up in a critical moment and all hope is lost. So these two come out of nowhere and take a hard fought record just like that?

The problem is Miles, you don't know if they have just come out of nowhere or if they have been trying every Friday for the last 5 years.

Marc Gawley was lucky by his own admission but he had put the work into planning his attempt.
