More works to potentially mess up routes

Post by Iain »

I got this through yesterday:

"I am writing to let you know that from Sunday 29 June until late August, there will be no entry to the Bakerloo line at Paddington Tube station. This is while we carry out planned improvement work on both escalators as part of our Tube improvements."
Full Network: Three completions, Best time: 17:18:18 - thanks Glen, Andrew and Rhys!

WHAT!

Upon reading the planned engineering works online, it seems Paddington is simply exit only for the Bakerloo line. That's not that great either, but oh well.

So far, we have restrictive works at:
- Bond Street (no Jubilee - Central works are finishing in a few weeks)
- Covent Garden (exit-only, and no westbound on weekends)
- Embankment (no Bakerloo or Northern)
- Gloucester Road (no Piccadilly, and let me tell you, that's annoying)
- Paddington (Bakerloo is exit only)

And, of course, might as well mention half the lifts are out of action at:
- Elephant and Castle (Northern line ticket hall)
- Goodge Street
- Queensway
- Russell Square

Is this "We've got a grudge against Zone 1" year?

This morning, I read on the scrolling info under the platform DMIs at Ealing, that the Central Line works at Bond Street have completed and are open again - however I've not been there to verify this, nor the state of the Jubilee!

So Far none of this work is effecting my planning for a full Network attempt during the Beer Festival.
